Today you will explore the historical side of religion, you will be picked up at 09:00 to depart for Sanliurfa.

Your first stop will be the ancient site of Gobekli Tepe. This archaeological destination dates back to the 10th-8th millennium, here there have been two distinct layers of history found. The first layer is from the early Pre-Pottery Neolithic, here is one of the oldest know megaliths with huge T-shaped stone pillars, more than 200 of these pillars have been found in 20 circles. The second layer belongs to a later Pre-Pottery Neolithic period. These structures purpose remains a mystery to this day.

Sanliurfa is your next destination. This ancient city is said to be where Abraham the patriarch grew up and struggled against King Nimrud. The pond in this towns palace was where the story of Abraham was thrown into the first for the flames to turn to water and the burning logs became fish, today the pond is famous for its high amount of fish and crystal-clear waters. Outside the main town you will visit the birthplace of Abraham, originally, he was born in a cave however to protect the home and to allow more people to witness a window has been added.

You will indulge in a traditional lunch in a classic style building here in this breathtaking town.  

From this iconic town to the ancient city of Harran. You will explore the ruins of this old culture including, an Islamic University, Castle of Harran, and the houses of the region. This ancient city has played a part in religious history, being mentioned in the bible. Abrahams father and family chose to settle in the city as is written in Genesis 11:26-32.

Your fascinating day of historical and religious understanding will come to an end at 19:00 when you depart to return to your hotel in Gaziantep.
