Piraeus
Piraeus is the main port of Athens being only 12Km south-west of the city. It is the largest port in Greece, the biggest passenger port in Europe and the third-largest passenger port in the world.
Piraeus is rich in Greek history and while you are here it is worthwhile visiting the Hellenic Maritime Museum exhibiting both ancient and modern ships that have moored in the port. Also, the archaeological museum has exhibits from ancients times, some of the statues date right back to the 4th Century BC.
