Noah's Ark
This legendary seafaring vessel, if the stories are to be believed, tell of the ultimate way of escaping Gods wrath. The basis of the story states that God told a true believer called Noah, to build a great ark and gather two of every creature one male and one female. This ark would the protect them from a great flood God sent to ‘wash’ the sinners away and allow for those on the boat to re-populate the land.
This and other stories describe the land where the ark landed when the waters receded from these and other information Mount Ararat is said to be the location of its landing. While the boat itself has not been 100% confirmed to be found, it has not discouraged pilgrimages and building to grow nearby for visitors to look around. Including a museum/information office about Mount Ararat and the Ark.
