Dalaman Cayi

A visit to Dalaman River (Cayi) is an absolute must for all adrenaline seekers. The river draws visitor from all over for it fierce white water rapids and extreme sports opportunities. Dalaman river is one of the best locations in Turkey for white water rafting, kayaking and canyoning, the river offers grade 3-4 rapids and April is when the water is at it's highest and most rough. Rafting excursions usually begin at Gurleyik village and travel 12-14 kilometres downstream over 2-3 hours through stunning scenery.

Situated in the Mugla Province in southwest Turkey the Dalaman river originates in the Kocas mountains and passes through thick forests, green valleys and over waterfalls. While the town of Dalaman doesn't offer much for tourists to do, the picturesque seaside towns of Fethiye and Marmaris are just a short drive away and multiple day trips are available to discover the region.

Riverboats offer a more tranquil way to see the Dalaman river, typically voyaging further downstream closer to the sea. You can drift along on flat emerald green water, pass through the rocky gorge like walls and stop for lunch at a riverside cafe. The Dalaman River is an idyllic location of sublime natural beauty that still remains largely untouched.

Another ineradicable natural sight around Fethiye is the Saklikent Gorge, the second largest gorge in Europe offers tubing, walking and swimming opportunities.
