Antikabir

Antikabir is the Mausoleum and resting place of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the father of modern Turkish Republic and remains an inspiration to the Turkish people even to this day.

Ataturk’s resting place also acts as a museum and remembrance of the past acts. The Road of Lions represents the 24 Oghuz Turkic tribe that built the foundations that led to the Ottoman Empire which gave way to modern Turkey. Inside the grounds, many statues offer a remembrance of the past, including statues of women showing their hardship and determination to aid their homeland in any way they can. The collection of male statues shows the willpower of the Turkish people to move forward as one nation immaterial of their status and learning.

Everywhere visitors look there is a fascinating history that tells the story and a lesson to be learned from it. Along with this history, the architecture is stunning using a traditional style that gives asymmetrical but smooth style.
