TEIMIOUSSA / UCAGIZ![]() UCAGIZ Ucagiz, meaning three mouths, representing the three openings to the open sea, is a tiny village on the Mediterranean coast. Ucagiz is off-limits to development and has become an exclusive hideaway, with prices to match. This landlocked bay is surrounded by green hills. Very little is known about the ruins of Ucagiz, inscriptions indicate they could date back as far as the 4th century BC. There are ruins of a necropolis, but no city walls or other major structures. The oldest sarcophagus is shaped like a house and has a nude portrait of a young man above it. The portrait seems to have been added after it was constructed, possibly by Romans. |
